Two-day course in Applied life cycle thinking

In this two-day course organized by Swedish Life Cycle Center, Karin Sanne, Head of the Life Cycle Management Group at IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, will guide you through a deeper understanding of how to apply life cycle thinking within your organization. Drawing on real-world cases and proven methods, the course provides ample opportunities to practice your newly acquired skills and seek guidance from experienced trainers and guest lecturers.

The life cycle perspective, understanding the environmental impact of a product or service throughout the value chain, is becoming increasingly important in business, the public sector and public authorities.

The target group of the course is those who need a better understanding of the life cycle perspective, life cycle assessment (LCA) and its role for sustainable development in your organisation. You work e.g. as a strategist, environmental coordinator/environmental manager, purchaser or investigator in the public sector or business and focus on sustainability. No prior knowledge of LCA is required.

The course covers the following:

  • How a life cycle perspective affects companies and authorities.
  • What LCA is and what benefit it can give you.
  • Specific application of the life cycle perspective in various functions and activities, eg in procurement and environmental communication.
  • Product Environmental Footprint and other life cycle-based policy development nationally and globally.
  • Implementing life cycle thinking in your organization.

Day 2: 09.00-16.00 with a voluntary Q&A session until 16.30 (CET).
